What you need:
6 peeled cored and diced apples (I soak mine in 7-Up). Our apples come from our mature apple tree in our backyard but you can use your favorite baking apple such as Granny Smith.

After your apples are cut, peeled, and soaking preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
Add non stick cooking spray to a 9ββx13ββ pan
Next Prepare the Dough:
1/2 Salt
2-1/2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
2 Cups Flour
1/2 Cup Milk
2/3 Unsalted Butter Softened
To make dough: sift salt, flour, and baking powder together in a medium bowl
Cut in softened butter with pastry cutter, a fork, or your hands until dough is mixed to a crumbled pea-like size
Slowly add milk and gently press dough together
Lightly flour tabletop surface and roll out dough

Cut into 6 square pieces
(If you soaked apples in 7 up rinse and pat dry with water using a strainer)

add a small handful into the center of each piece of dough and sprinkle lightly with cinnamon
Fold dough around each pile of apples and pinch closed.
Put all six dumplings in greased pan

Gather ingredients for sauce:
2 cups waters
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
Prepare Sauce: put a sauce pan on medium heat
Add water, cinnamon, and brown sugar and stir gently
Bring to a light boil and keep on at a steady boil for 5 minutes
Remove from heat and stir in butter until fully melted

Pour sauce carefully over dumplings in dish

Put the pan of dumplings into the oven at 350 degrees for 55 minutes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!! You can also sprinkle more cinnamon sugar on top to taste
